Frequently asked questions
FAQs
Straight answers to the questions small businesses ask most about web design, pricing and getting found online.
Cost and pricing
How much does a website cost in Ireland?
It depends on the size and features. A business website with up to five pages and a blog starts at €300 with us. Larger sites with custom design typically cost between €700 and €1,500, and an online store is usually €1,500 to €2,000.
How much should a small business spend on a website?
Spend in proportion to what the site needs to do. If it mainly needs to look professional and take enquiries, a five-page site is usually enough. If you need to sell online or take bookings, budget more for those features.
Can I really get a website for €300?
Yes. The €300 price covers up to five pages, a blog, a contact form, mobile-friendly design and basic SEO, using a proven structure in your branding. Extras such as custom design, copywriting or more pages are priced separately.
How much does an online store cost?
Our online stores start from €1,500 and typically cost up to €2,000, including WooCommerce, payments, shipping and tax set-up and 20 products. Extra products and features add to the total.
Are there any ongoing or hidden costs?
There are no hidden costs. Ongoing costs are the domain name, hosting and any care plan you choose. Managed hosting is €12 a month and our care plan is €29 a month, both optional.
Building your website
How long does it take to build a website?
Most small business websites take two to four weeks from receiving your content. Online stores usually take a little longer. A fast-track option can deliver in under seven days.
What do I need to provide?
Your logo and brand colours if you have them, your text and images (or we can write and source them), and quick feedback at each stage.
How many pages does a small business website need?
Five pages cover most small businesses: home, services, about, contact and one more such as pricing or FAQs. You can add pages later at a fixed price.
Will my website work on mobile phones?
Yes. Every site is designed mobile-first and tested on phones, tablets and desktops.
Can I update the website myself?
Yes. We build on WordPress, so you can edit text, images and blog posts without any coding. We can also show you how with a short training video.
WordPress and platforms
Is WordPress good for small businesses?
Yes. WordPress is flexible, widely supported and gives you full ownership of your site. It works for brochure sites, blogs and online stores, and it is strong for SEO.
What is the difference between WordPress and Wix?
Wix is a hosted drag-and-drop builder with a monthly subscription and limited portability. WordPress is open software you own and can host anywhere, with far more flexibility as your needs grow.
Should I choose WooCommerce or Shopify?
Shopify is an all-in-one hosted service with monthly fees. WooCommerce runs on your own WordPress site with no platform subscription and more control. We build WooCommerce stores.
Do I own my website?
Yes. You own the site, the content and the domain. Hosting is a service you can leave at any time, and we will hand everything over.
SEO and getting found
How do I get my website on Google?
Make sure your site is not set to hide from search engines, submit your sitemap in Google Search Console, and set up a Google Business Profile. We handle the technical set-up as part of an SEO build.
What is local SEO?
Local SEO helps your business appear when people nearby search for what you do. It includes a Google Business Profile, consistent contact details, reviews and pages that mention the areas you serve.
Do I need a blog on my business website?
Not always, but it often helps. A blog lets you answer customer questions, rank for more searches and build trust. That is why a blog is included in our €300 website.
How long does SEO take to work?
Most sites see gradual progress over a few months. Local, low-competition searches can move faster, while competitive terms take longer. Nobody can honestly guarantee rankings.
What are Core Web Vitals?
They are Google measures of loading speed, responsiveness and visual stability. Good scores generally mean a faster, smoother site for visitors.
Hosting, domains and care
What does website maintenance include?
Software updates, backups, security monitoring, uptime alerts and small content changes. Our care plan covers all of these for €29 a month.
Do I need a .ie or .com domain?
A .ie domain shows you are an Irish business, and a .com is more international. Many businesses register both. A .ie registration requires a connection to Ireland.
Do I need a cookie banner in Ireland?
If your site uses analytics or marketing cookies, you generally need consent before setting them, along with a clear cookie and privacy policy. We can set this up. This is general information, not legal advice.
Do you work with businesses outside Dublin?
Yes. We work with businesses across Ireland, including Cork, Galway, Limerick, Waterford and many other towns. Everything is handled online.
